A substantial Forestry Commission woodland surrounding Harold Court (now residential flats), created on former farmland. Much of it has been planted with trees, mainly native broadleaves with some scots pine and larch, supplementing the surrounding tree belts, which include groups of mature black poplar and horse chestnut, and the original hedges, which include wild service trees.

Broad grassy rides and glades have been left unplanted, and these are moderately rich in flowers and provide good habitat for butterflies and small mammals.

A flower meadow and pond have been created next to the railway and there is an established pond further south.
